More to come. John started writing articles for Rainbow Cincinnati in 1998. In 1999, we created RainbowNews and RainbowTalk to distrubute our news. Of the 6000+ news postings to RainbowNews, the vast majority were from John, sometimes writing under the Capital Coverage name which he used in his reporting when he lived in Washington, DC. For a long time John did his work on a borrowed PC or trekked to the Library or Media Bridges to use their computers. He was always disgruntled that he couldn't view the Rainbow site from the Library computers because of their "child-safe" screening software. He was so excited last year when he was able to buy his own computer. Because of his disability John became an expert in how to get anywhere using public transportation. When he'd tell me about the meeting he had just attended or the great band he'd just discovered, the first half of the phone conversation was filled with the details of which bus connections he had made and where the good and bad curb-cuts were. More to come. 2/26 - The Greater Cincinnati GLBT News has posted this article (pdf - currently unavailable). 3/02 - Gay People's Chronicle has posted this article. And, this from CityBeat.
