RiverCity Sports Newsletter - Winter Volleyball 2000 E-Mail: jmwalton@one.net Rivercity Winter volleyball will be on Monday nights again at McKie Community Center, 1655 Chase Avenue, in Northside. The season begins Monday, 1/3, with a captain's meeting & skills clinic, and league play starts 1/10. The captain's meetinq will be held at McKie ard will benin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the skills clinic at 6:45. All skill levels are welcome. Improve your level of play and learn new tips. If you have a team or are looking for one, please come to the captain's meeting. If you can't make it call Matthew in advance, 541-0909, or email him at Mattie@cinci.rr.com. The league will run for 10 weeks plus an end of season tournament for the top teams in each division. We offer Recreational, Intermediate, and Competitive levels, and you can have any number of men or women on your team. Cost will be $250. So dust off those knee pads and get out and be a part of it! It's always a blast and a great place to meet new people. We hope to see even more competitive & recreational teams than last session. Congratulations to the Fall league and tournament winners. In the Intermediate division, Size Matters won the league and Spike Boys the tournament. In the Competitive division, Let the Big Girl Hit won the league and the tournament. Still Need a Softball Commissioner for May Rivercity Sports Softball will begin in early May, and we are still in need of a new softball commissioner. Marty Knauff, the softball commissioner for the last three years, is stepping down. If anyone is interested in taking this over, please contact Marty (321-7853) or Josie (271-1674, jmwalton@.one.net). Marty can help with the transition and says it's easy to do.
