Announces New Director

Stonewall Human Rights Organization of Greater Cincinnati ("Stonewall Cincinnati") is pleased to announce that it has hired a new Executive Director, Doreen Cudnik.
Since 1994, Ms. Cudnik has been the managing editor for the Gay People's Chronicle, a statewide weekly newspaper that serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered community in Ohio. She was a writer and administrative assistant for that paper for three years prior to becoming its managing editor.
Ms. Cudnik is a native of Cleveland and attended Cuyahoga Community College. She has been a volunteer for the Lesbian/Gay Community Service Center in Cleveland, and for the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the National Organization for Women.
Ms. Cudnik brings to Cincinnati a wealth of contacts on the state and national level, as well as her broad experience with the media. Freeman Durham, Co-Chair of Stonewall Cincinnati, says "We feel fortunate to have obtained someone with Doreen's level of experience, energy, and commitment"
She will assume her duties as Executive Director in early September. Ms. Cudnik succeeds Lycette Nelson, who has been Executive Director of Stonewall Cincinnati for the last two years. Ms. Nelson left the position in order to follow a career in law. "I am delighted to be joining the staff of Stonewall Cincinnati and honored to follow in the footsteps of such gifted past executive directors as Lycette Nelson, Michael Adee and Cindy Abel," Cudnik said. "I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
Stonewall Cincinnati is a service organization dedicated to ending discrimination, violence, and harassment against those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered. It is an active participant in positive social change through education, advocacy, and outreach, and seeks to foster a climate of inclusion in which diversity is recognized, embraced, and celebrated.
